A compact wall-mounted loudspeaker, developed in response to distributor feedback, for rooms where a full cinema system isn't practical. It was designed for efficient in-house manufacture, easy installation and visual discretion, and presented as a concept at an AV show in Denver.

My role

I designed and engineered it, from the first sketches to CAD and renders.

Brief

Distributor feedback pointed to rooms where a full cinema system isn't viable. Picture answers with a compact speaker that hangs on the wall beside the screen and stays visually discreet.

The July 2024 ideation sheet explores forms for the wall: angled and wedge-shaped cabinets, framed baffles and grilles, colour studies and a wall-mounting detail.

Design and engineering

The chosen design pairs a white angled cabinet with a dark baffle carrying a tweeter and a mid-bass driver. The exploded render lays out its parts, from the front panels and drivers to the white frame and rear panel, with manufacture in TPI's own workshop and quick installation in mind.

Outcome

Presented as a concept at an AV show in Denver.
