Eminence

Wilson Benesch's flagship loudspeaker, released in November 2018: a tall curved cabinet with a column of drive units above four isobaric units, a sculpted carbon top and a machined foot. I worked on it in SolidWorks, on its models, drawings and bills of materials.

My role

I helped develop it, and designed and 3D modelled its Fibonacci-pattern dust caps and decoupled tweeter faceplate.

  • Helped develop Eminence
  • Designed and 3D modelled the Fibonacci-pattern dust caps and decoupled tweeter faceplate with a materials science PhD student on placement, overseen by the Design and Engineering Director — and took responsibility for printing them in-house
  • Researched, specified and set up in-house 3D printing, giving the team control over new and complex parts

Outcome

Released in November 2018. The dust caps and tweeter faceplates developed for Eminence were also applied to the Precision Series.
